First degree:

Unique Overbalanced Diaphragm Design - As the diver descends, the overbalancing feature allows the medium pressure gas in the hose to increase at a rate faster than the ambient. This results in superior performance at depth.
2 HP ports and 4 MP ports are angled for optimal hose guidance.
An eco-friendly dry system keeps water out of the main spring chamber, preventing ice buildup and protecting against sludge and contamination.

Second degree:

Pneumatically balanced second stage results in smooth and easy breathing
The purge buttons on the XTX are large and easy to operate. A 2-stage progressive purge is used. Press the purge on the side for a lower flow rate, useful when more control is required, such as filling lift bags etc., then press in the centre for the full purge effect, i.e. when the regulator is cleared etc.
The large Venturi lever has a soft rubber grip that makes it easier to find and use. The lever reduces the amount of grit entering and therefore counteracts any possible friction, ensuring smooth operation.
An easy-to-grip opening force adjustment knob keeps the diver under control.
The second level is produced with active protection against infection, as all molded parts are produced with an additive that kills MRSA, protects against E-Coli, bacteria and fungi, and is also very effective against viruses, molds, yeasts and algae.
A silicone exhaust valve improves regulator breathing.
The Comfo-bite™ virtually eliminates jaw fatigue.

OCTOPUS XTX 40

The XTX40 Octopus pairs well with any Apeks regulator. It provides the same features and performance as the XTX40 second stage mentioned earlier, but comes with a high-visibility yellow front cover and yellow hose.
